Draft: this guide describes a feature customers can't use yet, so production leaves it out.

The desktop app

Soja for Mac keeps running when you close its window, so calls still ring, and opens when you log in.

The desktop app shows the same inbox as app.sojabean.com, in its own window. It needs macOS 14 or later.

It keeps ringing

Closing the window doesn’t quit Soja. It keeps running in the menu bar, so a call still rings. When one comes in, you get a notification with the caller’s name and the line they called, and Soja rings until someone takes the call, for up to a minute. Click the notification to open the window.

The first time you call from the app, macOS asks to let Soja use your microphone. Allow it, or nobody will hear you.

The menu bar

Click Soja’s icon in the menu bar for:

  • Open Soja, which brings the window back;
  • Open at login, which starts Soja hidden when you log in, so calls ring from the start of your day (it’s on unless you turn it off);
  • Quit Soja, which stops it, and with it the ringing.
